Too busy again! Been working hard on paying off that debt for Nook, which is way too much of course. I've had my house expanded again, AND added a basement. But my layout isn't anything great yet; I'm trying to collect more blue furniture.

Coco moved away from Ohfun recently. I was crushed. How could she? After I'd rescued a lot of her things from the clutches of the evil Snooty who always "borrowed" them? Another squirrel moved in, named Hazel. But I don't like her as much as Coco. Life's not fair sometimes. Why couldn't someone I dislike move out instead?

..Speaking of Snooty, the evil psychotic anteater, I found a brand new, shiny axe at the police station today. I'm taking it as some kind of sign. I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but SOMETHING'S going to happen.

Island.. "fun". [04 Sep 2003|07:46pm]
[ mood | distressed ]

I've finally bought an axe! I used it to chop down some old trees and plant new fruit trees from what the animals have given me: cherry, orange, and apple. As soon as they are grown, I'll start growing my orchards. Then I'll be rich. I love my axe. It's so shiny and neat. And someday I'll use it on Snooty's head.

I just recently got back from Monkey Island, which unfortunately turned out to have no monkeys. What it did have was a snotty little mouse named Flossie who insulted my name and later said if she could compare it to a food, it would be fish sticks. I don't understand this. And of course there was that demented pirate turtle who just.. scared me. I wasn't sure I really wanted to re-board his so-called "yacht of love", but I had to get home somehow. Oh well.. maybe the island will be of some use someday. It has a nice little empty house on it, after all.

And at least when I got back home, Cleo told me I had to visit her every day, even if it was raining. I feel slightly better.

Stuff. [03 Sep 2003|09:12pm]
[ mood | determined ]

Been too busy to write in this thing lately!

Well, I think Ohfun can't handle any more residents. The last two moved in recently: Tabby, the world's ugliest cat, and Coco, the world's coolest rabbit. The town seems full of snobs or just plain not nice animals. Especially Snooty. She once decided to trade me for something of mine. Me, being the innocent person I am, agreed to it. She took my prized fossil and gave me her moldy old carpet! Then had the nerve to rub it in my face that I'd got a bad trade! I couldn't believe it. So I beat her around the head with my bug net. She got mad. Serves her right anyway. I have a plan in mind to deal with these jerks in town, however..

Nook's store expanded, and now offers more ways to help you go broke. Not too exciting, but I still need about 65,000 bells to help finish paying off my house. It's still too small for me. I haven't even decorated yet, as I haven't had time.

That's about it for now. I think tomorrow I'll pay a visit to the local island and see what's there.

Rain. [26 Aug 2003|07:46pm]
[ mood | scared ]

Woke up to my first rainy day in Ohfun. Everyone's being stingy and saying they don't have work for me, so I've been fishing mostly. I've made so much money that I was finally able to pay off my house! Now I'm getting another expansion, even though Nook is still evil and is over-charging me. I don't have any pictures yet, because I really don't have enough things for a decent layout.

Oh, I DID have one job today.. Aziz asked me to deliver a shirt to Tad, because "it was so cute he had to buy it". This worries me somehow. Also, a cute but grouchy gray wolf named Fang moved in near Sally today. I like him.

I would write more, but I'm wasting good fishing weather.

Demon raccoon. [25 Aug 2003|07:33pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Actually, I'm beginning to think that Nook was lying about not having any more work for me, and he really DID fire me. He keeps telling me not to 'carouse' in his store. I found those markers, however.

Nook is a money-sucking demon from hell. I think I look appropriately pleased at my creation in this picture.

In other news, I've got a fishing pole, Bob has given me a blue chair, and Cleo thinks I'm a "peppy little bag of fun".

Animals. [24 Aug 2003|07:29pm]
[ mood | content ]

It turns out those fossils are parts of really big dinosaurs. Who would have thought something like that would fit in a normal letter? Huh. I'm donating them to the museum, and I also managed to buy a bug net. I've caught alot of beetles. Nook buys them. I'm serious. I don't know if he eats them or what.

I've actually associated with some of the animals now. There are only three that really stick out in my mind at the moment: Bob, a purple cat; Cleo, a lavendar horse; and Sally, a little brown squirrel. Bob is amazing. He seems to know alot about me. He painted my roof sky blue (how did he know my favorite color?), gave me a BLUE vase, and made me catch a bug for him for a friend, because he said that just because he was a guy didn't mean he had to catch bugs. Plus he just LOOKS cool. Cleo's a bit of a snob, but she's the cutest horse I've ever seen. She also has a beautiful house. And Sally is funny. She gave me an orange, and I'm extremely happy now. She has a cute, although mismatched, house, and she lets me lay on her pineapple bed.

Well anyway, I redecorated with my new things. The HRA says my house is too small to have a decent layout. Well, I can't help that yet, can I?

I only keep the Nook portrait I found there so that as soon as I can find some markers, I can deface it. Maybe tomorrow. For now, I'll just sit here and meditate next to my darner dragonfly.

Fossils and the HRA. [22 Aug 2003|08:28pm]
[ mood | curious ]

Rolled off of my floor this morning and went to check the mail. I got two letters, one from Nook, and one from the Faraway Museum. Nook said that he had a new shipment of really rare goods in, and of course I rushed over there to see. Turns out he just wanted to sucker me into getting into this Happy Room Academy thing. See, the HRA will supposedly grade my house layout by.. um.. some strange criteria. I'm not sure I like the idea, but I agreed to it. Mainly so Nook would stop breathing on me. And there were no rare goods. Liar.

Decorated my house at last. Stuff I found in the dump, and stuff the animals gave me on my first day is all I have to use. So it's not exactly.. awe-inspiring. I wonder what the HRA will make of this.

Later I sold a bunch of seashells I found down by the.. um.. seashore, to get enough money to buy a shiny new shovel. I've been digging up things. I've found four fossils so far, and according to the museum, I can mail them in and have them identified. They're just little round balls. I have no idea what kind of fossils those could be, but I mailed them in anyway.

Spent the rest of the day hiding from the animals. I'm not ready to deal with them yet, as they'll probably ask to come over and then ridicule my house. I'll just go to sleep now. I hope the HRA isn't going to deduct points because I sleep on a neutral boxing ring corner.

My first day. [20 Aug 2003|09:02pm]
[ mood | tired ]

My house came with this cheap journal, so I figured I'd make some use of it.

I'm new here in Ohfun, came in on the train just today. Was freaked out by a cat named Rover, who fortunately enough knew someone in town who could get me a house. See, I had very little money, and no place to stay once I got to my destination. That may sound a little funny to you, but that's just the way I do things.

Anyway, I met this guy, a raccoon actually, named Tom Nook. He's apparently been trying to sell these houses in the center of town, which seems like a tough job, considering they're all basically shacks. But, since I didn't have much of a choice.. I picked one which looked okay, and then.. Nook wanted me to work for him to pay off some of the money I owe him now. Not fun.

First he gave me this silly-looking work uniform (he made me change in front of him too.. freak), then he set me to work planting flowers and trees outside his cheap little shop. He gave me 80 bells for that. Yes, 80. I started to think this would take forever..

After that he had me running around, mailing letters and delivering items to the town's other residents. Who are all animals, by the way. Some of them even gave me some things in return. Not good things, really. I'll sell most of them later without letting them know. But overall, everyone in town was fairly friendly, except for Cleo, who insulted my intelligence when she found out why I was working for Nook. I'll have to keep an eye on her, I suppose. The last thing I did was write an advertisement on the bulletin board for his shop. I think what I wrote was something like "Yo, shop at Nook's, baby", but he didn't seem to mind. I don't have to work for him anymore now, and I still owe 17,400 bells on this junky house.

Well, hopefully my entries in this thing will get better.. first entries always seem to be boring anyway. Bedtime now.. I'm sleeping on the.. floor.
